Our Track Record:

As of 4/30/08 + over 14% per year!

Since July 31, 1992
2 for 1 Portfolio: 727.57%
S & P 500: 226.63%

Since the test portfolio became fully invested in July of 1992, it has grown from $23,895 to $197,746 or 727.57%, while the S&P 500 grew 226.63% over the same period. For 2 for 1, that's a median annualized return of well over 14% per year. The stocks in the 2 for 1 portfolio are listed on the "Model Portfolio" page. The 2 for 1 portfolio is a real portfolio of 30 large and small cap stocks. The S&P 500 is an index of the 500 largest public companies. Our comparison is for information only. It should not be assumed that recommendations made in the future will be profitable or will equal the performance of the securities represented on this list. Over the long haul, 2 for 1 beat the S&P 500 every calendar year from 1992 through 1997. The streak was broken in 1998 and 1999, which was an extraordinary time for the large cap and hi-tech stocks, companies not favored by our value investing style. Since 2000, we again beat the market every year except for 2006. See the chart below for up to date results. The 2 for 1 numbers include reinvestment of all dividends and capital gains for the 2 for 1 portfolio and reflect transaction costs based on the use of a deep-discount electronic brokerage service. This performance is the result of both our stock picking and the 2 for 1 portfolio management procedure.

The 2 for 1 stock picking and portfolio management procedures are not looking for the home runs. We're very satisfied with lots of base hits and a few doubles and triples. Slow but steady growth wins the game.
